Accommodation in Sydney CBD?

I’m planning a 4 night getaway visiting Sydney in early June 07, and just wanted to know if anyone can recommend an affordable central hotel/apartment we can stay at. It’ll be for a twin share.

    G’day Jen,

    Thank you for your question.

The organisation with the most detailed list of accommodation options is the NRMA.

    http://www.mynrma.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/mynrma/hs.xsl/travel_2.htm

Wotif.com has a detailed list of accommodation options for Sydney.

It is not quite in the CBD but the University Motor Inn in Glebe is very close to the city and reasonably priced.

Yahoo Travel has an extensive list of accommodation spots in Sydney with photos, reviews and prices.

I hope that you and your partner have a wonderful time.

I stayed at Oaks Maestri Tower. Its pretty central. 2 blocks away from George Street, Near Darling harbor as well. They have studio rooms good for 2 and some even have kitchens. The one bedrooms though are pretty spacious and well appointed. even have nice balconies.

As for the location, it as really walking distance to everything. even near paddy’s market, and about a 30-minute walk to the Opera house.

You can ring them up at (02) 9267 9977 for their rates. I think the studio is around 140aud per room.

    Cheers!

The Base youth hostell is top quality but if that’s not your scene you can try the Mercure at central station, bit of a walk out of the cbd but two train stations away from the CBD
