Hi, I am going to stay in Pattaya for 4 nights and in Bangkok for 1 night in Mid July this year….
Now I have booked my hotel in Pattaya to be Amari Orchid Resorta and Tower but I am not sure where to stay in Bangkok. Please recommend me a cheap 5 star hotel in Bangkok… Also when is the summer sale in Bangkok and pattaya and from where can I avail it?? Looking at the number of days, recommend me where I should go in Pattaya and in Bangkok(which must include a few shopping malls)…
Thanks a lot

Hi look at the AMARI BOULAVARD in bangkok or the bel-air princess it,s not 5* but very good hotel in the same street as the amari ,both are great location for every thing = shops & sky train
In bangkok go to ROBINSON department store ,5 mins walk from hotels ,they have a sale in july ( ladies shoes 199baht) you are cheaper to shop on the street in sukhumvit road only 100 yards from hotels
In pattaya go to MIKES shopping mall or buy from street sellers ,just tell them what you want and they will get you anything , you can sit outside in a bar and they come to you selling everything
You should actually go to pattaya for 2 days, and 3 days for Bangkok, because you will get bored after 2 days in Pattaya. Bangkok has much more to offer, in terms of night life, shopping, fashion, beautiful people and food.
You can try Centre Point Petchburi, Petchburi Rd 15. It is a 4 star service apartment, which has great service, and BIG BIG ROOMS. It is 5minutes walk away from Platinum mall, a big shopping centre with cheap tee shirts, shorts etc.
Centre Point Petchburi is also near Baiyok sky hotel, the tallest building in Bangkok, and Pratunam Market, filled with cheaps stuff too.
When unsure, just ask the locals (preferbably Thai teenagers, as they know better and would not cheat you) for directions to get to the malls near Centre Point Petchburi.
Other shopping places you must go are MBK shopping mall, Chatuchat Market (opens only on weekends), Khao San (Night market and night life), Suan Lum Night Bazaar.
That is why you must go Bangkok for a few more days!

email me if you have any queries.
I would stay in Fraser Suites in Sukhumvit costs are 120USD from http://www.asiarooms.com heaper than the website directly. Breakfast was great. Location was good it is not 5 star but I would say it is in the 4 star standard. Great clean gym, quiet lace for a rest. nice swimming pool. Have a look at it
Shopping, Pattaya is more expensive than Bangkok, too many toursit push prices up. Pathum Thani near Central World, and Graysorn (expensive mall), MBK for mobiles, Pantip for electronics computers (more expensive than US/UK)
I would like recommend ASIA hotel (Bangkok). Because it is very very near to MBK and it’s cheap. Therefore, though, is only 3* hotel, is worth. Anyway, since you are only stay for a night, I believe you might rushing for shopping, therefore, it is better to stay some where near the shopping mall. Plus, if you busy shopping, even you book a 5 or 6* hotel, if you had no time to enjoy the facilities of the hotel, than no point to waste your money and time.
As for good buy, I would like to recommend China Town in morning, you can get very good buy and price.
Hi, looking at your schedule, looks like you will be shopping at Orchid Mall most of the time Pattaya. Or head to Mike Shopping Mall. You have limited places to shop there, but bars are aplenty and you just need to be awake at night during your stay.
In fact if you are into shopping, now is the time to be in Bangkok rather than Pattaya. The Grand Sale is on till end Jul so your schedule is just out of sync.
Staying in 5-star in Bangkok, their prices are 5-star, what cheap price will yu expect anyway? Cheap ones will be the 3-star hotels, which are plenty. Look at http://www.asiarooms.com for info.
